- David Moulsdale is regarded as one of the UK’s most successful entrepreneurs. Like many of his peers, Moulsdale started out with nothing. He started his first optical eye care business in Leith, Scotland and now wholly owns the UK’s largest provider of refractive eye surgery, Optical Express as well as major operations around the globe. Moulsdale also acquired and developed a substantive UK dental business, a leading edge state of the art hospital and several ancillary concerns. His Optical Express Group now operates in Croatia, France, Germany, Holland and Ireland as well as the UK. Like most entrepreneurs however, Moulsdale has quietly stuck by the rigorous principle of ‘giving something back’ and is a mature philanthropist. David has invested several millions of pounds for the common good via profits from both his businesses largely focusing on healthcare issues both domestically and internationally. Moulsdale was a winner in the Sunday Times/ Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100, was awarded the Scottish Business Achievement Award by HRH Princess Anne and was World Young Business Achiever in 1999.
